Woah...it's been more than a month since my last entry. Shit. Okay, not going to let this blog die like it did before. So here goes a MAMMOTH of an entry:
When we last left our hero, he was in the mid of Ramadhan and also in the midst of losing weight. Since then, he lost 1 more kg and put on 2 more after his trip to KL, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Well, the end of the school term came, which inadvertantly led to a MAD rush of admin work to be completed. Couple that with preparations for next year's Sec 2 camp and you'll understand why I was swamped. Also, I had my CPE duties to 'look forward' to which started immediately after term ended ie 1st Nov all the way to 23rd Nov. Sure they give us extra allowance but considering the fact that I had to go to SEAB in the wee hours of the morning and go home in the evening every single freakin' day, it had better be worth it. Also, it was unnerving to be given such responsibilities...I mean, if anything screws up, I'll be the first to be shit on. Thank goodness nothing happened...Alhamdulillah.
In between, there was Hari Raya Aidilfitri. We only had two days to celebrate since I had to go back to work on the third day. We still haven't visited my sis yet and it's difficult since she's working most of the time. And on her off-days, she's off visiting as well.
I also had news that my principal's replacement isn't that anal guy I was talking about. Phew. Instead, it'll be a lady principal from Katong Convent. We'll see how it turns out...heard that she's into the arts. That's good news for now.
When my CPE responsibilities ended, we had about a week to unwind before we left on the 30th of Nov for KL with my in-laws for a short break. Boy it did us good. It was unnerving to drive around KL, but once I adopted the KL-mode of driving (coupled with a few choice swear words and vulgarities), it was ok. I'm proud to say that we didn't get lost (much). When we did, I was usually able to find our way around. The highlight of the trip, for me, was when we had dinner at Menara KL. We went there before two years ago, and it was really great to go there again. The view was MAGNIFICIENT. The food was SUMPTUOUS. Now you know why I added two more kilos. And to top it off, the guy we were rooting for in the Singapore Idol won...WAY TO GO TAUFIK! My dearie's cousin voted for us (150 times in total) and gave us minute-by-minute update just before the results were announced. He deserves to win...he can sing, has the style and the moves. We're proud of you man...halal duit kita votekan kau. :)
My dearie also had a chance to buy books at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, books we can never find in Singapore. I was just happy to be able to bring her there.
We also got to watch Puteri Gunung Ledang on VCD. Dumb cinemas here never showed it on the big screen, which they should. Crappy movies with Erra Fazira and Yusry they show...great epics like this they never show. Go figure. Anyway, go watch it if you can...really incredible!
And now, we have the rest of the hols ahead of us...I don't know what else we'll do, but we're gonna make full use of the time. Oh, and good news from the government...an additional 1/4 month bonus on top of the 1 and a half month we'll be getting. Woohoo!
